Hooray for Healthy Eating Week

We have been absolutely delighted to see so many local businesses joining in with an appetite for the fantastic ‘Let’s Do Lunch’ campaign organised by Caring Cooks and sponsored by Whitmill.
The aim of the lunchtime get-togethers hosted during the charity’s first ever designated Healthy Eating Week was to share a meal, focus on healthy living and help raise money and awareness of local charity Caring Cooks.
Kiran Patel, Director at Whitmill Trust said, “We were really keen to get involved in this great campaign. Caring Cooks was set up to help improve the health of young Islanders, empowering them to make healthy food choices and I think ‘Let’s Do Lunch’ has made all of us focus more on what we are eating and what we could be doing to improve our diets!’
Whitmill staff produced and shared a mouth-watering array of healthy food including: vegetarian pasta bake, stuffed peppers, chick-pea pate served with cherry tomatoes and pitta bread, warm falafel served with flatbreads and a mint yoghurt dip, fruity Moroccan couscous, lentil soup, Mediterranean salad with feta and olives, summer fruits with crème fraiche, sugar free flapjacks and sweet potato brownies.
